Gun Control

I’m not sure when we became a society that blames the object used in a crime rather than the person who commits the crime, but come on, it’s never the gun’s fault. It (guns) cannot make decisions, cannot point itself at someone, cannot pull it’s own trigger. It takes a person. It takes a person who is willing to break the law and kill someone. This brings up my second point… More laws won’t help. Just in case anyone didn’t know it already, it’s against the law to kill someone. It’s against the law to go into a school or mall and shoot as many people as you can. There are already laws against this type of behavior. The culprit didn’t care about breaking laws, and any future criminal won’t care about breaking laws (new laws or older laws). That is, by definition, a criminal. They’re willing to break the law! No matter what, blaming the gun won’t fix the problem. In fact, I think it’s borderline insanity to blame an object that can’t think and did not decide to commit the crime…
